Having secured his first green jacket last weekend at just 21, Spieth´s hot run of form looks set to continue again in South Carolina.
Golf fans may understandably feel slightly deflated this week, as this year´s Masters event came to it´s conclusion on Sunday. However, there is no rest for the wicked in the golfing world, as this week we travel to the RBC Heritage.
Masters champion, Jordan Spieth, looks set to compete in the event just a few days after his magnificent victory at Augusta, with the pressure now on him to follow-up his dominant performance.
Prior to the Masters, Jordan was in just as excellent form, having not finished worse than second in an event since the middle of March. The world number two also performed pretty well at this event last year, despite suffering that narrow loss in the Masters to Bubba Watson.
However, this year he goes into the RBC Heritage as the Masters champion, and will be hopeful he can better his respectful finish of T-12 last year at the Harbour Town Golf Links.
The course is renowned for favouring those with good short games, an area that Jordan Spieth well and truly mastered in Augusta. If he can replicate the same performance level this weekend, then it is going to take a brave man to bet against the young American.
Himself, and his fellow competitors at the Masters, will also be buoyed by the fact that since the Heritage moved to being the first event after the Masters back in 1983, only six men have won the event having not played at Augusta.
All the signs look good for Spieth again this week, and he is priced at 13/2 to win.
Another danger man going into the tournament is fellow American Matt Kuchar. He goes into this event as defending champion, having clinched victory in dramatic fashion last year, seeing off Englishman Luke Donald.
That one-stroke margin in 2014 was enough to secure himself the title, and if he can show similar guts and determination this year, then he could be extremely competitive come that final round. As a man that has been there and got the t-shirt, he will also be aware that no defending champion has missed the Heritage cut since 1993, stretching 21 consecutive years.
Whilst it is always tricky defending your title, Kuch is more than likely to be sniffing around the right end of the leaderboard this weekend.
