Former Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores says team owner Stephen Ross presented him with a nondisclosure and separation agreement that he refused to sign, according to his interview with Bryant Gumbel of HBO’s “Real Sports”.
Flores said Ross tried to get his signature after he was fired from the team, but said that putting his name to the document would have prevented him from speaking out against the Dolphins and filing his lawsuit against the franchise.

“Just signing that separation agreement would have really silenced me,” the former coach told Gumbel.
Flores’ attorneys say that refusing to sign the deal made the ex-coach lose out on millions of dollars, but it also left him free to discuss his experience with the team and sue them.
Attorney Doug Wigdor said money is not the only consideration for Flores. “He filed this lawsuit so that he can help other coaches, now and in the future,” Wigdor told Gumbel.
Dolphins’ denial
The Dolphins have denied the pronouncements of Flores on “Real Sports”.
“This latest assertion by Brian Flores that Steve Ross mentioned an NDA to him is categorically false. This just did not happen and we simply cannot understand why Brian continues this pattern of making unfounded statements that he know are untrue,” according to the organization’s statement.
